Things I've built with local businesses

Three very different businesses, and three different ways of working together.

WebsiteHome salon

A home salon gets its own front door online

The situation

A salon run from home, with lovely regular clients but nowhere to send new ones. Prices, opening times and bookings all lived in messages and word of mouth.

What I did

I designed and built a warm, mobile-friendly website that sets out the treatments, shows off the work and makes it obvious how to book. It feels like walking into the salon, which was the whole idea.

How it runs

The site is simple enough to keep up to date, so the salon can change prices and hours whenever it needs to.

A corsage business gets a colourful new home online

The situation

This business makes faux flower corsages by hand, to order, for Mehndi celebrations and other functions. Every set is made to suit, in pinks, oranges, pastels and more, and it needed a home that showed off that colour.

What I did

I built a multi-page website with a page for each style of band, clear pricing for every set size, delivery information and an easy way to get in touch. Then I created an Instagram ad campaign to bring people in from just the right audience.

How it runs

The website and the ads work together, so someone who stops on a post lands somewhere that makes ordering simple.

A tutoring business puts webinar tickets on autopilot

The situation

This client is a tutoring business that runs webinars, and needed a smooth way for parents to buy a place without a string of back-and-forth messages.

What I did

I set up the webinars themselves and built the ticket-buying process, so a parent can book a place and be registered without anyone lifting a finger. I then created a WhatsApp ad campaign to let families know when the webinars were on.

How it runs

This is the way I enjoy working most. I create the product and the workflow, then it can be looked after by the client or by me, whichever suits them best.
